uuu.gl Manager ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps you shorten URLs and manage file uploads through the uuu.gl service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

1. User Authentication Data

  • Google Account Information: When you sign in, we collect your email address and profile information through Google OAuth
  • Purpose: To authenticate your identity and associate your shortened URLs with your account
  • Storage: This information is stored in Firebase Authentication and Firestore

2. URL Data

  • Current Tab Information: The extension accesses the URL and title of your current browser tab when you use the shortening feature
  • Purpose: To create shortened URLs for the pages you visit
  • Storage: URL data is stored on our Firebase servers

3. File Download Information

  • Download History: The extension monitors your recent downloads to enable file upload features
  • Purpose: To provide quick access to upload recently downloaded files
  • Storage: Download metadata is stored locally in Chrome's storage and on Firebase servers when you upload files

4. Usage Statistics

  • Click Counts: Number of times your shortened URLs are clicked
  • Storage Usage: Amount of storage space used by your uploaded files
  • Purpose: To display usage statistics and enforce storage limits
  • Storage: Statistics are stored in Firestore

5. Technical Data

  • Browser Fingerprint: Anonymous browser characteristics for rate limiting
  • IP Address: Hashed IP addresses for abuse prevention (not stored in plain text)
  • Purpose: To prevent spam and abuse of the service

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  1. Provide the URL shortening and file upload services
  2. Authenticate and authorize your access
